Projects

Problem:
In-house staff either did not have the expertise or available time to develop required electronic billing files to meet state or payer mandates.

“We needed a quick response to the mandate requiring us to provide HIPAA compliant electronic billing files, particularly to our major insurance companies. No one in-house had the expertise to develop the software. For one of the insurance organizations that represents over 60% of our revenue, any delays in billing would have been financially devastating.”

Action:
Behavioral Information Systems LLC developed, tested, and implemented HIPAA billing files, including 837, 835, and 270/271 files.

“By working closely with our Business Office staff, BIS determined our unique billing requirements, and, with consideration of our internal priorities, developed, tested and delivered the needed specifications within the mandated time frame. Their extensive knowledge of both the HIPAA standards and the available system tools proved invaluable.”

Results:
Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester is able to bill timely and accurately, thereby assuring a consistent revenue stream.

“Our billing schedules were maintained. Our cash flow was maintained. We take comfort in knowing that during any stressful situation the professional consultants at BIS are fully capable of handling our outsourcing needs.”
